    Improving the Digital Competence of Academic Staff, FEB Unikom Holds a Workshop “Skill Up With Gemini”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) continues to strengthen its digital transformation efforts by holding a workshop entitled “Skill Up with Gemini” on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Labkom 12B Room on the 10th floor of UNIKOM. The event served as a strategic platform to expand the academic community’s understanding and skills in utilizing the latest artificial intelligence technology.

    The Head of the Doctoral Program in Management Science and Coordinator of Sandboxing at FEB UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isniar Budiarti, SE., M.Si., emphasized the importance of applying artificial intelligence, particularly Gemini, to support the learning process, research development, and increased academic productivity. She stated that mastery of the latest technology is a primary need for universities in facing the dynamics of the digital era.

    The workshop featured a keynote speaker, Ahmad Rizki Dzulfikar, a professional coach from Google, who guided participants through intensive practical sessions. He explained various strategies and techniques for optimizing Gemini’s features, from preparing lecture materials and data processing to enhancing creativity in carrying out academic tasks. The practical approach enabled participants to immediately apply Gemini’s functions in their daily work.

    The event was also attended by the head of study programs, the Sandboxing lecturer team, lecturers, and students from the FEB. The large number of participants demonstrated the academic community’s high enthusiasm for the workshop. The participation of various elements of the academic community not only shows the high level of interest in mastering AI technology, but also illustrates a shared commitment to encouraging innovation and improving digital competence within the faculty. In addition, the participation of the Sandboxing lecturer team and students is expected to accelerate the implementation of Gemini technology into the curriculum and various FEB UNIKOM innovation projects.

    Through the “Skill Up with Gemini” workshop, FEB UNIKOM reaffirmed its commitment to build a culture of sustainable innovation. This activity not only enriched the technical capabilities of the participants but also strengthened the readiness of the entire academic community to face the challenges of the digital era with relevant competencies. FEB UNIKOM also hopes to continue producing adaptive, creative human resources who are able to utilize AI technology to the fullest to support the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.     The PKM-PM “Peka Toksin” Team Unikom Empowers Karang Taruna of Pamekaran Village through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology to Prevent and Detect Black Mold

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Student Creativity Program Team in the Community Service category (PKM-PM) from Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has successfully implemented a community empowerment program “Peka Toksin” in Pamekaran Village, Soreang, Kabupaten Bandung. The PKM program is one of the innovations of UNIKOM students in combining artificial intelligence (AI) technology with environmental health education, particularly in the early detection of black mold, which has the potential to harm the respiratory system.

    The “Peka Toksin” PKM program was born out of the students’ awareness of the dense and humid environmental conditions in Pamekaran Village, which are two factors that are very risky for the growth of mold that produces mycotoxins. Through “Peka Toksin,” the team presented an AI-based application that can help the community quickly identify the presence of black mold while strengthening the role of Karang Taruna as a driving force for health education at the community level.

    The “Peka Toksin” team consists of students from the Information Systems and Informatics Engineering Study Programs, with Team Leader Nur Aisah (Information Systems), Rizki Dwi Sya’bana Nugraha (Information Systems), Rizka Dwi Putri Ningsih (Information Systems), Rhadith Eka Erlangga Shaputra (Information Systems), and Abdul Malik Febrian Zulkifli (Computer Engineering), accompanied by their advisor, Dr. Hj. Supriyati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., ASEAN CPA., C.PI., CIAP., AMKI.

    This activity also received support from the Director of Student Affairs UNIKOM, Andrias Darmayadi, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., who emphasized that the synergy between students and the community is a manifestation of UNIKOM’s vision to provide technology-based solutions that have a direct impact. “This program is a concrete form of our commitment to empowering the community through student innovation. Thank you to the village government and Karang Taruna of Pamekaran Village for their collaboration and support,” he said.

    This program is funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) through the 2025 PKM-PM Grant Scheme and has been running from July to November 2025. The program was implemented systematically through several stages, including 1) Observation and Field Analysis Stage (July 2025): The team conducted field observations on July 22 to understand the real conditions of the community and held discussions with the Village Head, Hamlet Head, and Karang Taruna. The results of the observations were used as the basis for planning training and socialization; 2) Technology Development Stage (July 25-28, 2025): The team optimized the “Peka Toksin” application and installed the system on the mobile phones of cadres and residents to ensure readiness for use; and 3) Socialization and Empowerment Stage (August 2025). Activities began with the formation of Karang Taruna cadres and the handover of guideline books, followed by a demonstration of the application to residents on August 18, and continued with technical training for cadres on August 23.  The program ended with intensive assistance to residents’ homes on August 25, to ensure that the cadres were able to carry out their educational and detection functions independently.

    The enthusiasm of the Pamekaran Village community is proof of the success of the student team’s participatory approach. Iwan Wahyudin, Head of Hamlet III, expressed his appreciation. “We really appreciate the initiative of UNIKOM students. This innovation is real and relevant to the needs of the residents. The socialization helped us understand the dangers of black mold and how to prevent it,” he said.

    Meanwhile, Dini Nurjanah, Chair of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) of Pamekaran Village, said that the program had a positive impact on increasing community awareness. “Previously, many residents were unaware of the dangers of black mold. After the socialization, they became more vigilant and understood how to prevent it. We hope this program will continue,” said Dini.

    Support also came from Fajar Sumirat, Leader of the Karya Mekar Karang Taruna, “Thank you to Kemdiktisaintek and UNIKOM for the very useful education. The knowledge we have gained will help us maintain the cleanliness and health of the environment independently,” he said.

    More than just a technology project, PKM-PM “Peka Toksin” is an example of the integration of digital innovation and social empowerment. The program produced an AI-based application and strengthened the social capacity of the village community through cadre development and continuous training.

    Dr. Hj. Supriyati hopes that Karang Taruna Desa Pamekaran can become a pioneer in maintaining technology-based environmental health while also serving as a model for the implementation of education and AI-based “smart villages” for other villages in Indonesia.

    Through the synergy between student innovation, government support, and active community participation, UNIKOM once again demonstrates its role as a university committed to sustainable development and technology-based empowerment. (Directorate of Hms & Pro)

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – In response to the challenges of the digital transformation era, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held an academic discussion entitled “Government Strategies in the Artificial Intelligence Roadmap to Strengthen Efforts Towards Indonesia Emas 2045” on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in the Smart Classroom, Smart Building UNIKOM.

    The event featured a keynote speaker, Aju Widya Sari, Director of Artificial Intelligence and New Technology Ecosystems, Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (KOMDIGI RI). In her presentation, she explained the direction of national policy in the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its implications for the education, economy, and digital innovation sectors in Indonesia.

    The Dean of FEB UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak., CA., also explained the importance of higher education institutions being prepared to face the AI revolution. She emphasized that AI integration is not only a necessity in learning but must also be implemented in research and community service through adaptive curricula and smart technology-based support systems.

    Furthermore, the discussion speaker, Aju Widya, explained three strategic focuses of the national AI policy, including 1) Utilization of AI to support the growth of the productive sector and the national economy; 2) Increasing research and innovation capacity based on artificial intelligence; and 3) Strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia’s economy and business at the global level.

    The Academic Discussion was an integral part of FEB UNIKOM’s strategic steps in building a proactive and future-oriented academic ecosystem by strengthening collaborative networks with ministries and state institutions to promote digital literacy among the academic community.

    Also attending the event were the Heads of Study Programs of FEB UNIKOM, including the Head of the Undergraduate of Accounting Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sridewi Anggadini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., the Head of the Undergraduate of Management Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raeni Dwi Santy, S.E., M.SI., CIMA, the Head of the Accounting Diploma Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wati Aris Astuti, S.E., M.Si,. Ak., CA., and the Head of the Banking Finance and Marketing Management Diploma Program, Dr. Rizky Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si.

    The discussion was also attended by the FEB UNIKOM AI for Business Sandboxing Team and 5th and 7th semester students from all study programs within FEB, both offline and online via the Zoom platform. The discussion was dynamic and interactive, marked by various critical questions from participants regarding the challenges and opportunities of AI in increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian human resources towards Indonesia Emas 2045.

    Through this discussion, FEB UNIKOM reaffirmed its role as a faculty that is adaptive to technological developments and national policies, and continues to strive to build a generation of academics and digital economy practitioners who are ready to face a future based on artificial intelligence.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNIKOM demonstrates its commitment to building an educational ecosystem relevant to the development of smart technology. As a strategic step towards implementing the “AI for Business” curriculum sandboxing for the Odd Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, FEB UNIKOM held an AI Application Coaching event entitled “Artificial Intelligence for Business” on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Smart Class, Smart Building Lobby, UNIKOM.

    The event featured a guest speaker, the Head of the UNIKOM Doctoral Program in Information Systems, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Nursikuwagus, S.T., M.T., M.M., who is also an expert in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, and data mining and an active researcher and reviewer for international journals. During the presentation session, he comprehensively discussed the development of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data mining, and their applications in the management and finance sectors.

    The event was also attended by the heads of study programs at FEB UNIKOM, including the Head of the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sridewi Anggadini, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., the Head of the Bachelor of Management Study Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raeni Dwi Santy, S.E., M.SI, CIMA., Head of the Accounting Diploma Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wati Aris Astuti, S.E., M.Si,. Ak., CA., Head of the Banking Finance Diploma Program and Marketing Management Diploma Program, Dr. Rizky Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si., and Director of Academic Development and Learning Data Sources (PASDP), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isniar Budiarti, S.E., M.Si., as well as the UNIKOM FEB AI Curriculum Sandbox Team, which is currently designing the integration of AI-based adaptive curricula at all levels of study.

    The Dean of FEB UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Siti Kurnia Rahayu, SE., M.Ak., Ak., CA., CFA., was also present and provided direct guidance, emphasizing the importance of smart technology-based learning transformation. Furthermore, Prof. Rahayu highlighted that the success of educational innovation can only be achieved through cross-program synergy and the courage to present a curriculum that is adaptive to technological developments.

    The presence of the program chairs and the sandbox design team reflects FEB UNIKOM’s spirit of collaboration and seriousness in preparing a new direction for strategic and competitive digital learning. Through this coaching, FEB UNIKOM emphasized that artificial intelligence will not only be taught as a course, but also used as a strategic approach to produce graduates who are ready to compete in the era of Industry 5.0 and the digital economy. Furthermore, this activity also opens up opportunities for research collaboration and community service relevant to the use of smart technology in the economic and business sectors.     BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic fields and technological development by issuing a Decree (SK) appointing the Head of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Program.

    On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Meeting Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the Vice Rector II for Resources at UNIKOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., representing the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., handed over the Decree (SK) and inaugurated Rodi Hartono, ST., MT., Ph.D., who was entrusted to lead the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Study Program. The inauguration was witnessed by the Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Accreditation, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (FTIK), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Soegoto, MBA., along with a number of lecturers from FTIK UNIKOM, including Sugeng, S.Kom., M.T., Dr. Muhammad Aria Rajasa Pohan, M.T., and Dr. Ednawati Rainarli, S.Si., M.Si.

    In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus expressed his high hopes that the Head of the Study Program would be able to develop the new program and make it competitive, both nationally and internationally. “The Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Study Program is one of the strategic study programs that is a new step for UNIKOM in facing the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0. We believe that with strong leadership and a clear vision, this study program can produce excellent, innovative, and competitive graduates,” he said.

    Meanwhile, Rodi expressed his gratitude and thanks for the mandate given to him. He emphasized his commitment to working with the entire academic community to develop curricula, research, and innovations relevant to the needs of industry and society. “We will strive to create a study program that is not only a center for the development of science but also a strategic partner for industry and government in creating robotics and artificial intelligence-based solutions,” he said.

    As part of the next series of activities, on Friday, August 15, 2025, a joint prayer celebration was held for the opening of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Study Program as well as the appointment of the Head of the Study Program, marked by a tumpeng cutting ceremony. The event was solemn and full of camaraderie, attended by all lecturers at FTIK UNIKOM.

    On the same occasion, Vice Rector III, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman, offered prayers and expressed his hope that the new study program would make a real contribution to education, research, and community service. “May the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Study Program develop into a center of excellence and produce a generation capable of responding to global challenges in the field of technology,” he concluded.

    Through this celebration, the appointment of the Head of the Study Program and the inauguration of the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Study Program further emphasized UNIKOM’s steps in creating innovation and expanding scientific contributions in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.
