    From Creative Ideas To Promising Proposals: Unikom’s Ap2sc Directorate Hosts Strategic Seminar To Encourage Faculty Members To Secure Research And Innovation Grants For “Indonesia Maju 2026”

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – To improve the quality and competitiveness of faculty research, the Directorate of Application Development, Training & Service Center (AP2SC) at the Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) held a seminar on Friday, July 17, 2026, titled “Strategies for Securing Research and Innovation Grants for a Progressive Indonesia (RIIM) in 2026” with the theme “From Creative Ideas to Promising Proposals.” Held in the VVIP Room on the 16th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building, the event served as a strategic platform for faculty members and researchers to enhance their skills in drafting competitive research proposals with a high chance of securing national funding.

    UNIKOM Vice Rector for Resources, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Riyanto, S.T., M.T., CSBA., stated in his opening remarks that the workshop represents UNIKOM’s effort to enhance faculty members’ capacity in preparing proposals for the Research and Innovation Grants for a Progressive Indonesia (RIIM) program. Through the material presented by Prof. Dr. Hanif Fakhrurroja, S.Si., M.T., it is hoped that more than 30 UNIKOM faculty members and attendees will be able to produce higher-quality proposals, secure funding from BRIN, and strengthen cross-program collaboration to generate innovative research that has a positive impact on society.

    The AP2SC Directorate featured a keynote speaker, Research Professor from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Prof. Dr. Hanif Fakhrurroja, S.Si., M.T. During the event, he shared various strategies for drafting high-quality proposals for the Research and Innovation Grants for an Advanced Indonesia (RIIM) program, ranging from formulating relevant research ideas and establishing the novelty of the research to crafting proposals with a high likelihood of securing funding.

    Additionally, in his presentation, Prof. Hanif shared his experience as both a researcher and an evaluator for various national research funding programs. With expertise in Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Smart Instrumentation, he also encouraged participants to produce research proposals that are not only academically excellent but also capable of providing innovative solutions to various challenges facing Indonesia’s development.

    The participants’ enthusiasm was evident throughout the event, particularly during the discussion and Q&A sessions. Faculty members took advantage of this opportunity to engage in direct discussions on strategies for improving proposal quality, understanding the reviewers’ evaluation criteria, and exploring research collaboration opportunities that could increase their chances of securing RIIM funding.

    Through this strategic seminar, UNIKOM hopes that more faculty members will be able to produce innovative, competitive, and impactful research proposals, thereby increasing the acquisition of national research grants while strengthening the research culture within the UNIKOM community. This activity is also part of UNIKOM’s commitment as a Digital Entrepreneurial University to create an academic ecosystem that fosters high-quality research, sustainable innovation, and collaboration with various national and international institutions. By enhancing faculty capacity through programs organized by AP2SC, UNIKOM is optimistic that it can continue to strengthen its contribution to supporting the advancement of science, technology, and innovation toward an Advanced Indonesia.     Improve Student Competence: Unikom Holds It Training Certification For Informatics Engineering Students 

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – To improve the competence and expertise of students in the field of Information Technology (IT), the Directorate of Application Development Training and Service Center (AP2SC) of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), in collaboration with the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) Rekhatama, held training certification for students of the Informatics Engineering Study Program of UNIKOM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. This event presented Expert IT Instructor from LSP Rekhatama, Darwan, S.Si., M.M., who was the main speaker.

    In this training, students get a deepening of material about web-based applications using the HTML, JavaScript, and PHP programming languages. Important aspects regarding the implementation of security in application development also became the main focus. “This training aims to make students not only understand how to build web-based applications, but also be able to secure the system from potential cyber threats,” said Darwan in his presentation session.

    Students are also guided to understand the logical framework of programming thinking, or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), in software development. Therefore, trainees are expected to be able to master the workflow of a program as a whole, from planning to implementation.

    This certification activity was greeted enthusiastically by students, who considered it a golden opportunity to deepen their technical skills and to prepare for competency tests in the field of expertise as a Junior Web Programmer, Junior Web Developer, and Data Scientist to obtain certification issued directly by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) which will be an added value in the professional world. This is a form of UNIKOM’s seriousness in supporting students to achieve professional certification through various training programs, intensive guidance, and examination facilities provided to increase competitiveness in the work world. With this training, it is expected that Informatics Engineering students will be more prepared to face challenges in the technology industry and be able to compete professionally in the digital-based work.
