    BANDUNG, UNIKOM — Wednesday, January 4th 2026, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) reaffirmed its commitment to recognizing the achievements of its academic community by presenting an award to Angga Friyanto, S.Kom., M.T.,  as a Lecturer and Head of the International Class & Training Division as well as the WorldSkills Competition Advisor under the Directorate of International Programs and Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence at UNIKOM, for his success in guiding Rash Asyari Amyris, one of UNIKOM student to achieve outstanding results at the WorldSkills Asia Competition Taipei 2025.

    The award was presented at the Grand Meeting Room on the 15th floor of the UNIKOM Smart Building by the Rector of UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. H.C. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., accompanied by the Vice Rector IV for Digital Technology & ICT, International Programs & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, Ph.D., and Deputy Vice Rector IV, Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D., and witnessed by several other UNIKOM leaders, ranging from Vice Rectors to Deans. This award is a form of institutional recognition for the real contribution of the academic community in enhancing UNIKOM’s reputation at the Asian level.

    For information, the WorldSkills Competition is an international skills competition that tests the abilities of young people in various fields, with more than 70 competition categories at the world level. At WorldSkills Asia Taipei 2025, UNIKOM team competed with 10 countries, including Japan, South Korea, and Chinese Taipei, as well as a guest country, the United Kingdom.

    Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto, M.T., as a Rector of UNIKOM said that UNIKOM has a strong tradition of recognizing achievements by granting rewards for every accomplishment, as a form of appreciation and sustained motivation. Prof. Eddy stressed that since 2016, UNIKOM’s Digital and ICT Division has consistently earned distinctions at the ASEAN, Asian, and international levels. “The latest achievement is winning digital and ICT competitions, starting from the ASEAN level and advancing to become champions at the Asian level. This is an extraordinary accomplishment that deserves recognition,” Prof. Eddy said.

    On that occasion, Angga Friyanto, S.Kom., M.T., received an award in recognition of his dedication in mentoring students to achieve 1st Place in Asia (Gold Medal) in the field of IT Network System Administration (ITNSA). In appreciation of his dedication and contribution to the competition, UNIKOM presented him with an award of Rp25,000,000 (twenty-five million rupiah).

    Prof. Eddy also emphasized that this achievement is expected to inspire other students to continue to excel and dare to compete at the global level. According to him, UNIKOM opens up opportunities for achievement in various fields, not limited to technology, and will always give awards to outstanding academics.

    Meanwhile, Angga Friyanto, S.Kom., M.T., expressed his gratitude for the support and appreciation extended by UNIKOM’s leadership. He emphasized that the success at WorldSkills Asia Taipei was the result of collaboration and the collective support of the entire academic community. “Today’s recognition serves as an important foundation for our preparation toward WorldSkills International in Shanghai, where we will face strong competitors from around the world. We will carry out intensive preparations through training and international sparring sessions,” he stated.

Pada Rabu, 4 Februari 2026, Rektor UNIKOM, Prof. 3 Prof. HC. Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto S., MT., menyerahkan penghargaan (reward) resmi kepada perwakilan tim WorldSkills Asia Taipei 2025. Penghargaan ini merupakan apresiasi institusi atas keberhasilan luar biasa mahasiswa Program Studi Sistem Informasi UNIKOM, Rash Asyari Amyris Thalib, yang sukses meraih medali emas pada kategori IT Network Systems Administration dengan mengungguli delegasi dari Jepang dan Korea Selatan. Acara penyerahan penghargaan ini dipimpin langsung oleh Rektor UNIKOM dengan didampingi oleh Wakil Rektor IV Bidang Teknologi Digital & ICT, International Program & Center of Excellence, Prof. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, MLS., Ph.D., serta Deputi Wakil Rektor IV, Adam Mukharil Bachtiar, S.Kom., M.T., Ph.D. Hadir pula jajaran pimpinan universitas lainnya, mulai dari Wakil Rektor I Bidang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan, Wakil Rektor III Bidang Riset, Inovasi dan Akreditasi, hingga para dekan fakultas di lingkungan UNIKOM. Kehadiran seluruh jajaran pimpinan ini menunjukkan dukungan penuh universitas terhadap pengembangan kompetensi mahasiswa di bawah bimbingan Angga Friyanto, S.Kom., M.T selaku ketua Divisi International Program Class & Training dan pembimbing mahasiswa tim WorldSkills 2025. Dalam sambutannya, Rektor UNIKOM menjelaskan bahwa pemberian reward ini didasari atas prestasi konsisten yang telah diraih sejak tahun 2016 di tingkat ASEAN, Asia, hingga dunia.     Unikom Lecturer Selected As Indonesian Delegate As Chief Expert At Wordskills Asean Philippines 2025

    BANDUNG, UNIKOM – Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) again showed its progress at the international level through a proud achievement. Angga Friyanto, S.Kom., M.T., who serves as Head of the International Class & Training Division as well as a Permanent Lecturer at the UNIKOM Information Systems Study Program was appointed to represent Indonesia as Chief Expert at the 1st Technical Committee Meeting of WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 which took place in Manila, Philippines. This activity is part of a series of preparations for the WorldSkills ASEAN International Competition which will be held in August 2025, including drafting regulations and developing competency test projects. Angga’s participation in the forum was an official mandate from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, which selectively chose experts, practitioners and academics with high competence and extensive experience in the field of skills development and the implementation of international competitions.

    In this forum, Angga was present as an Expert for the IT Network Systems Administration field, as well as being trusted to be Indonesia’s Chief Expert in that field during the Jury Panel Meeting. This technical meeting became a strategic event to formulate skill descriptions, technical provisions, and competition needs ahead of the main competition in August. In addition to discussing vocational techniques, this activity began with a meeting between the heads of delegations of each country to establish the structure and general rules of the competition, followed by intensive discussions between experts in each field in the jury panel session, and closed with a plenary meeting to formalize the agreed decisions.

    The event, held at the Sheraton Manila Hotel, was attended by delegates from ASEAN member countries, both in person and virtually, such as Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Laos, and Vietnam. This moment was an important first step in the development of standards and mechanisms for the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN competition, which will be held again in the Philippines after almost three decades. The event was also enlivened with a dinner by TESDA WorldSkills Philippines as a form of warm welcome and an effort to strengthen the relationship between the countries, as well as strengthen the joint commitment in improving the standards of vocational education and training in the region.

    As a higher education institution that is treading the path towards World Class University, UNIKOM provides full support for the involvement of its academic community in this international forum. Angga Friyanto’s active participation not only reflects the quality of UNIKOM’s human resources, but also becomes a form of real contribution in developing skill standards at the ASEAN level. More than just a competition, WorldSkills ASEAN is an important indicator of the progress of workforce competence in each country and a benchmark for integration between scientific developments and global industry needs. The results of this technical meeting will also be the main reference in the next five-month training camp to ensure participant readiness and optimal competition quality.

    “I am grateful to be trusted to be part of the Indonesian technical team and bring UNIKOM’s name to a higher level. This forum opens up many opportunities for collaboration and is a valuable experience in strengthening Indonesia’s contribution to the international skills stage,” said Angga.
