    Abstract

    Operational Management: This sector and its operations face the challenge of professional management leading to how effective its services. The study is analyzing and designing a system information of motorbike lending. Our research method: qualitative descriptive data gathered through observation and interview with motorbike rental owners in Ubud, Bali. The development of a system must adhere to a methodology to ensure all plans are aligned with the business. The study showed that the application of an information system can enhance material handling, ordering process and vehicle safety. Meaning, more productivity, less errors and higher customer satisfaction. By maximizing the utilization of information technology in forecasting business processes, then your motorbike rental industry can further enhance its own competitiveness and bring a positive impact on the operation, also it may continue to help improving with all these benefits. © 2024 IEEE.

  • Comparative Study of Model Efficiency for Sentiment Analysis on BRImo Reviews

    Abstract

    This study aims to overcome the challenges in selecting the most efficient machine learning model to analyze user sentiment towards the BRImo application on the Google Play Store. User review data on BRImo, an application owned by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, was collected through web scraping techniques from a total of 1.55 million reviews, and then 150,000 relevant samples were used. The results showed that Support Vector Machine (SVM) had the highest accuracy rate (87.13%) but required the longest training time (1310.70 seconds). In contrast, Naive Bayes had the shortest training time (0.59 seconds) but the lowest accuracy (75.00%). Logistic Regression emerged as a model that provides a balance between high accuracy and fast execution time. The contribution of this study is to provide a comprehensive guide to the efficiency and reliability of models in sentiment analysis, which can be used to assist in selecting the right model in new user review analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

  • GIS application on Flood Vulnerability Mapping Based on Land Use Change in Manado City

    Abstract

    Manado City, situated on the shore of the Sulawesi Sea, serves as the hub of activity, and the capital of North Sulawesi Province frequently encounters flooding. One of the hypotheses regarding the frequent floods is attributed to the decrease in vegetated areas. The research aims to use GIS to map flood vulnerability related to land use change in Manado City (Tuminting, Wanea, and Wenang Districts). The approach employed is the map overlay analysis method, utilizing scoring to ascertain the water absorption capacity and identify locations vulnerable to flooding. Land use at the research location showed substantial changes between 2013 and 2023, with vegetated land conditions declining by 77.25 hectares (4.49%) while settlements expanded by 226.83 hectares (13.18%). The water absorption area at the research site is categorized as low and very low, measuring 66%, while the absorption capacity for moderate, high, and very high is 34%. Overlay of maps of land use, slope, soil type, river density, and rainfall used to determine five flood vulnerability levels. The results show areas classified as very vulnerable: 575.52 hectares (33%), vulnerable: 515.69 hectares (30%), slightly vulnerable: 361.02 hectares (21%), slightly safe: 177.79 hectares (10%), and safe: 94.44 hectares (5%). GIS successfully solves problems in urban and regional planning by mapping disaster-prone areas, i.e., flood vulnerability areas based on land use changes. © 2024 IEEE.

  • Decision Support System Using Simple Additive Weighting with Key Performance Index for Selecting Teacher

    Abstract

    Competence, performance and adequate Staff Management are success factors for any Business Firm, including educational institutions. This research aims to suggest a Decision Support System (DSS) that can help educational institutions measure their teachers’ performance in order to achieve their education goals. This study was conducted at a Senior High School in the town of Bandung in Indonesia. The research starts with the analysis of the teachers’ Appraisal Evaluation Instrument, and then validates some Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Alternatives, performance Weights and Score to be applied in Matrix Normalization using simple additive weighting (SAW) method. Six Criterion which are Adaptation, Engagement, Skill, Discipline, Punctuality, and Empathy are taken as fundamental evaluation criteria of the research. The result of the research will be a ranking assessment in which three best alternatives are selected, visualized and used for a three years term School’s managerial decision plan: Agus Suhendar was selected as the best teacher with 0.9768 as ponderation, then Rita Sulistyorini selected as the second-best teacher with 0.9622, and finally Magdalena I as the third-best teacher with 0.9229 points. © 2024 IEEE.

  • Leveraging Internet of Things and Blockchain for Improved Air Quality Monitoring Systems

    Abstract

    The objective of this research is to develop an air quality monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain technology. The application of the two technologies is considered a very suitable solution to provide air quality information in a fast and accurate manner and has resistance to data manipulation, reliable and trustworthy. The research includes problem identification, data collection, system analysis and design. In addition, implementation and testing of the system that has been developed. IoT is used as an input media that supports air data such as CO and CO2. Data from IoT is acquired by the system, and stored in a blockchain network through smart contracts to maintain the integrity of the data. Data from the blockchain network then used as information that can be utilized by users to determine the condition of air quality in the environment. The results showed that the air quality monitoring system that integrates IoT and blockchain technology was successfully developed. System performance testing based on success ratio and failure variables send rate, latency, and throughput shows that the developed system can produce a good performance to handle large IoT data and can maintain the integrity of IoT data in the blockchain network. The contribution resulting from this research shows that a system that integrates IoT and blockchain technology can increase and improve the quality and performance of the air quality monitoring system. © 2024 IEEE.

  • Deflection Enhancement of Ferrite Magnetic Core-Based Microactuator

    Abstract

    Microactuators play a vital role in several microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) that generate forces or deflections necessary to accomplish functions such as scanning, tuning, manipulation, or delivery. Utilizing a ferrite magnetic core has shown the potential to enhance the deflection of the microactuator. However, the previous study presented a complex fabrication method with high power consumption unsuitable for micropump application. Herewith, we report the impact of ferrite core length on the deflection generated by a microactuator with a simple fabrication method. The deflection behavior shows that the corresponding magnetic core length is inverse to the deflection improvement. The force reduction generated led by a longer magnetic core because of the farther distance to the coil. Our study can be used as a reference to support the development of micropump or active micromixer devices, which require compact devices with simple fabrication and high deflection, achieving ultra-high flow rate and high mixing index. © 2025, Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science.     Abstract

    This study aimed to investigate and comprehend the effects of knowledge management adoption, information technology utilization, and community service programs on university branding and their subsequent impact on the overall quality of education in private tertiary institutions (PTS) in the West Java and Banten region. The research design was quantitative, using a survey approach and a simple random sampling method to gather data from 226 lecturers from private tertiary institutions in West Java and Banten. PLS software version 3.0, based on the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach, was used to analyze the data. The results showed that knowledge management implementation had no discernible impact on university branding, as shown by a t-statistic value of 1.594 and a P-value of 0.112. © 2023, Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.     for Indonesian Speech Synthesis System

    Abstract

    Speech Synthesis System is a system used to convert text in a language into a sound. The focus of this research is to produce a ‘humanization’ of speech synthesis system pronunciation. The main requirement for Text To Speech system in this research are eSpeak, MBROLA idl database for Indonesia, Human Speech Corpus database which derived from the website that summarizes the words with the most common words used in a country, and three basic types of emotion or intonation that are designed for happy emotions, angry emotions, and sad emotions. The approach method used to develop an emotional filter is to manipulate prosody values (especially pitch and duration values) using predetermined level factors. The test results of Human Speech Corpus perception test for happy emotions are 95%, angry emotion is 96.25% and emotion sad is 98.75%. For the aspect of the clarity test, the audible sound accuracy with the original sentence is 93.3%, and for the clarity level each sentence is 62.8%. For the naturalness aspect to test the accuracy of emotional selection is 75.6% with every happy emotion is 90%, angry emotion is 73.3% and sad emotions of 60%. © 2018 IEEE.

    Abstract

    E-commerce system is very helpful for people in buying and selling transactions. Various existing marketplaces have their advantages and disadvantages. Software quality models can provide an assessment of each e-commerce marketplace system. This research analyzes the results of e-commerce selection by using several software quality models that are implemented with the analytical hierarchy process using Expert Choice tools. The assessment in this research using criteria from a combination of several quality software models to obtain which criteria have the highest percentage value and determine the quality of an e-commerce marketplace system. Each quality model software has different evaluation results from each other. This difference because the assessment criteria between one quality model and another. © 2018 IEEE.

    Abstract

    The purpose of this research is that researchers build basic applications in solving problems that occur in housewives and career women, namely GO-BABY Application that provides facilities to find a place in caring for children, and can provide security, education, health and comfort for a child. Applications are built from 2 parts, namely the first part in the society side such as housewives / career women and the second part is the side of the provider of child care services. The application that is built will integrated between applications that are applied in the society and service providers through an Android-based application and web based application. The results of this study will have a direct impact on both housewives/career women, in providing child care solutions that can be trusted while for child care services provider, provide convenience in the administration of child care services. Based on the function of the application, there are 2 parts that are given, namely to providers of child care services by providing an easy function of administrative data processing, including registration of child care services through online or offline, providing ease in processing data on children’s facilities, ease of payment report on income of child care services. Whereas for the community is the ease in the process of online registration and booking of child care services quickly and reliably. © BEIESP.
